In 2012, Jacob reached 1000’s of individuals with his lessons about safe water & food through the Jacob Francisco Memorial Century & Awareness Walk, numerous presentations by his father at schools and civic clubs, and here at www.facebook.c…om/jacobfrancisco.awareness, and at www.jacobfrancisco.com.
Just in the past 2 months, Jacob has reached nearly 500 students at Indian Trail Intermediate School, and we expect to reach another 500+ at ITIS and other schools before the Jacob Francisco Memorial Century & Awareness Walk on 4/20/13.
In 2012, Jacob’s story was nominated for the Tennessee Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Award, and the development of an Environmental Education Park at Sinking Creek received endorsements from the Johnson City Advisory Board for Parks & Recreation and from the Johnson City School Board. In the last weeks of 2012, the Tennessee Dept of Agriculture approved a wetlands enhancement project at the park site as a grant amendment for Sinking Creek Restoration.
In 2013, we expect Jacob’s story will be shared exponentially and substantial progress will be made with the development of the Environmental Education Park at Sinking Creek. Please continue your support and share this webpage and other news; such as what I read today at: www.foodsafetynews.com/2012/12/letter-from-the-editor-jitb-at-20/.
Please join us for a bike ride or a walk to celebrate Jacob during Earth Day weekend on 4/20/13. In the meantime, have a safe, peaceful, prosperous new year!
